![]() ![]() For this monumental issue, artist Steve Epting returns to draw the final stand between the Fantastic Four and the Celestials. If this series was cancelled right now (again), this issue would serve as a perfectly fitting conclusion. That would be the aforementioned final pages that lay everything out about the past, present and future of the Fantastic Four. And while that moment will probably make the hair stand up on the necks of diehard Fantastic Four fans, it's honestly not this issue's best moment. You expected big and Hickman will trump your expectations with bigger. And Jonathan Hickman does not disappoint. Without diving too deep into spoiler territory, let me just say that Fantastic Four #604 finally reveals the true potential of Franklin's powers. No joke, a flood of emotions hit me when I reached the book's final page and read Hickman's touchingly sincere narration. Fantastic Four #604 is a beautifully written piece that makes for a damn near perfect bookend to this epic saga. This is not only the big conclusion to "Forever," but it also serves as a wrap-up to many of Jonathan Hickman's plot threads dating back to his very first issue on Fantastic Four. ![]() Those are the only words coming to my brain after finishing Fantastic Four #604. ![]()
